Most skin checks take 15 to 30 minutes. Choose the skin check appointment type when you book and the right amount of time is set aside.
Skin checks are from $145, with a Medicare rebate from $45.05 for eligible patients. The rebate depends on the length and type of your consultation. Oxford Street Medical Centre is a private billing practice and fees are payable on the day.
Come with clean skin if you can: no makeup, fake tan or nail polish. Wear clothes that are easy to get on and off, and note any spots you want looked at.
Yes. A full body check goes from your scalp to the soles of your feet. You undress to your underwear, and the examination is thorough but respectful.
Yes. Three doctors do skin checks at the clinic, male and female, and you choose who you see when you book.
It gets discussed with you there and then. The usual options are monitoring the spot, taking a biopsy, or removing it, and most of that happens on site at the clinic.
It depends on your skin, your history and what your doctor finds. After your check, your doctor will tell you when to come back rather than leaving you to guess.
Yes, most biopsies, excisions and minor skin procedures are done at the practice, usually by the same doctor who found the spot. Complex cases are referred to a specialist.
There is free off street parking at the practice, with lift access to Level 1.
Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 1:30pm. Closed Sundays.
